Extreme Couponing

I didn’t even watch an entire episode… and I am hooked! My boyfriend found a clip on YouTube and showed me how a woman cut her grocery store bill from $500 something to $5. My eyes lit up and I set out looking for coupons but to my disappointment, it’s a lot harder than it looks!

We walked around our local grocery store and all we came up with were coupons for 50 cents off a $5 product. That’s not gonna get me on the show! So, I turned my search to the great ol’ Internet and I found some free coupons. Here are some of the websites I visited:

www.save.ca

www.websaver.ca

http://pgeverydaysolutions.com/pgeds/pg-brandsaver-samples-coupons.jsp

While none of these sites got me any really cool coupons (such as the ones for free stuff, no purchase necessary), they did however, have coupons for some everyday stuff to save money on. Plus, they print and send you these coupons for free so it really doesn’t get any better than this. Also, if you check in often, sometimes they have coupons for free stuff. For example, a month ago websaver gave out coupons for a free box of cheerios.

In the mail I got a coupon for a free Lysol No-Touch Hand Soap System. So I just have to go buy the product and slap a $0.59 stamp on an envelope with the receipt and get my mail-in rebate. Hopefully it all works out and I get a free $15 soap dispenser!

I think extreme couponing is a bit too extreme for me. I don’t want, nor do I have the time to sit for hours scouring for coupons and arranging them by alphabetical order. As long as I save money and get some free stuff along the way, I’m happy.
