Begin Again

To my readers and followers, I'm so sorry for my inconsistency.  It's hard to keep up with everything when you have so much going on with your life.  Thanks for your support on my last post.. it's nice to know other people are dealing with (or dealt with) big changes in their lives and how it affected their relationships.  The support that I got inspired me to create a new feature on my blog... but I'll let you know the details next week!

Now an update, I'm adjusting to my new job well, I'm so happy there and it's so great to wake up and be excited to go to work everyday.  Granted, I'm still having a bit of trouble adjusting to waking up at 6 am.  The boyfriend and I are doing great, even though he's got a ton of midterms, we're still finding the time to be together.  And Wednesday is Halloween so I need to go on pintrest and find some Halloween goodies to bake!

All Dressed

For me, it's so tempting to wear the same thing everyday; jeans and a tee.  So here's my confession... For my job, I wear scrubs everyday, so really, it doesn't matter what I wear to get in to work because once I get there, I change.  The only time I put on "nice" clothes is when I'm expecting to meet up with someone or go somewhere.  Sometimes when my boyfriend spontaneously wants to go on a date after work, I say no, because I'm not dressed "nicely".  There, I said it.  Whew.  My boyfriend thinks I'm crazy, but he just doesn't understand.

Sorry for my absence lately.  Like I said in an earlier post, I got a new job so that means I'm gonna be super tired and super busy.  Well I don't know if I'm actually that busy, I just feel like I have so many things on my mind that I feel like I'm busy.  My boyfriend just asked me if I'm getting tired of the blog.  It's not that I'm getting sick of blogging.. it's just hard to find the time.  So, I'm gonna try to keep blogging, I have so many ideas for TwentyySomething, it's just a matter of finding the time and resources to put these plans into action. 

Now onto the outfit, I know what you're thinking, how is she still wearing a dress?, it's October but I'm still so weather confused.  Sometimes it's freezing cold, sometimes the sun shines and it's warm, sometimes I think it's warm but it's actually not...

Justified

So it's kind of too chilly now to dress like this but I'm not sure what kind of top I can wear with this hi-low skirt, so I just kind of suck it up and suffer a little.  Oh and let me tell you where I got this skirt! My American readers are probably not going to be shocked by this, but I got this skirt from Walmart!  Normally, our Canadian Walmarts have plain, borderline boring clothes but when I saw this skirt... I swooned.

Now in other great news, I've got a new job!  So, I'm gonna need to learn how to juggle two jobs and posting and until I can get the right balance, please bare with me. But at least now I can justify all of the purchases I've been making lately.  Everytime I have a day off, I've been going shopping and I never ever leave the mall empty handed. My friends said they're gonna hold an intervention for me if this continues, but I think the new job justifies all the splurging.

Give a Little

I finally give in, time to whip out the fall wardrobe.  I reorganized my closet, and packed away the summer staples.  This week I learned that I have way too much clothes and not enough space.  I also learned that I have a lot of clothes that I don't wear but I'm too afraid to give away in fear that I'll miss it once it's gone.

Do you have clothes that you haven't worn in years but can't bring yourself to donate it?  Am I the only one? Because I've got a dresser full of clothes that I barely wear and I already donated a huge bag of clothes this week.

Timing is Everything

These pictures are old... but I haven't posted them yet, so here they are.  They're from my vacation earlier in the summer and I've neglected them until now.  Makes me want summer back.  I've been working so much these days, a vacation sounds like heaven.

Oh and another reason why I posted these pics today?  Because I can't take outfit photos today, my feet hurt. So. Much.  IT hurts to walk, to stand, to lie here on my bed while I write this post.  (I know, I whine a lot, my boyfriend tells me so.)

Feel it in my Bones

Transitional weather.. I hate how difficult it is to get dressed in the morning.  When you leave the house it's warm and sunny but if you get home late at night, it's chilly.  This is my compromise.  During the day, I sweat a little in the cardigan but at night my legs get a little cold.  You never win.  This is the price you pay for the sake of fashion.

Holding On

Though I'm tempted to whip out my fall wardrobe now that the weather is getting cooler, I'm still having trouble letting go of my summer wardrobe.  Lucky for me (and my floral sundresses), summer isn't over just yet.

Last week, I was working the entire week, over the weekend, I went to my cousin's wedding (I'll share some photos later) and yesterday I was at a movie prescreening so I've been super busy lately.  It feels nice to finally have some time to myself and just relax.  But of course I've got work again later on in the week and another wedding to attend this coming weekend.

I'm so excited for my friends' wedding, its a strange feeling when your friends start getting married... does that mean we're getting older?  Scary stuff.

Ladylike

I often pride myself on finding great deals, that's why I always share the prices of my clothes with you guys.  There's nothing more satisfying that finding the perfect dress/shoes/pants/etc. and then seeing that red sticker.  However, on the rare occasion, I do splurge a little on an item that I just have to have (and that I don't think I'd find on sale later).  This dress was my splurge (and technically.. it wasn't even that expensive).  My friends, I present to you my pink lace dress.

If you've been following me for a while.. you'll remember that I was crazy about all the pastel pink that H&M's ecoline had for the summer.  I also posted a pic of this dress and said I had to have it.. Well went the collection came out.. I went to the stores on the first day to make sure I got this dress in my size.  Now that summer's ending, I see a lot of pieces from that collection on sale but I haven't seen this dress on sale.  Therefore, I conclude that my splurge was actually a good purchase because it sold out, had  I waited, I would have never got my hands on it.  And trust me.. there's nothing worse than a woman with non-purchasing regret (my boyfriend would second that).

Mirror, Mirror

Snow white.. that's what my sister said my outfit looks like.  Maybe I should have held an apple and then a prince will come in on a white horse and... well a girl can dream.

So this was my outfit for date night last night.  We went for oysters and Japanese tapas.. yum.  Of course my boyfriend, being the meat and potatoes guy that he is, made us go to McD's afterwards.  At least I got an apple pie out of it (so gooood) but I wish we had a bigger variety of pies in Canada.  When I went to Beijing they had Taro pies and pineapple pies, the taro was my favourite.  Has anyone been anywhere else?  What other flavours do they have?

Wide Awake

Happy belated Canada Day and Happy early Forth of July!  So, quick recap of my week: did training for a new job and I've been planning my sister's baby shower!  The baby shower isn't for another two weeks but I'm excited, I can't wait to bake all the goodies I have planned!  It's so exciting because my sister is not only having one but two little bundles of joy.  I can't wait for the twins to arrive and I'm just hoping my sis will be able to attend the shower because she's getting really big!  To see some of the ideas I plan on executing, swing by my pintrest.
